Using Erbium Micro Fiber (EMF) technology, the SMPF-2030 is a fiber laser module with an output power of 30 mW housed in a small package measuring 168 x 70 x 19 mm. With a line width of less than 10 kHz, hopping-mode free, and a side-mode suppression ratio of greater than 50 dB, the module can be integrated into a variety of equipment, such as atmospheric and remote sensing, spectroscopy, and undersea optical communications. Relative intensity noise is specified at less than -140 dB/Hz at 2 MHz. The Telecordia-compliant module is available at ITU 50-GHz for the entire C band and has wavelength accuracy of ±500 MHz. It includes embedded microprocessor control and a 1-meter long PM fiber pigtail connector with a jacket diameter of 250 µm or 900 µm. NP PHOTONICS INC., Tucson, AZ. (520) 799-7400.
