The Instant Wireless Publisher application allows the publishing of Internet and intranet web sites to any wireless device without reengineering. Users drag and drop online content into a “wireless gateway window,” a feature that makes the new content instantly visible on wireless devices. Wireless content automatically updates whenever new content is added to the original site and there is an option to create special text, links or graphics to appear exclusively to users accessing the site wirelessly. The application automatically detects the type of device requesting access to a given site and dynamically transcodes the content for display and interaction on that device. It also formats content to accommodate the device’s screen size and content-display capabilities. Supported devices include Palm III, V and VII, Windows CE (Pocket PC), and HDML, WAP, I-mode, and J-phone cellular phones.
