Based on the company's DMB series, the 8MD dc/ac inverter measures only 8 mm high, weighs 64 grams, and is designed to deliver backlighting power to larger LCDs with up to four cold cathode fluorescent tubes. The inverter uses four low-profile transformers and, like the larger DMB series inverters, has a power efficiency as high as 90%. Other features include an optimized form factor for direct display connection to 17- and 18-inch flat panel displays, controllable brightness, and flicker-free performance throughout the entire brightness range. Pricing is $60 each for evaluation units, with delivery times of four weeks ARO.
