13-GHz Spectrum Analyzer Breaks $20,000 Mark

Aug. 1, 2002

Claiming to offer the highest performance at the lowest price in the mid-range spectrum analyzer market, the 13-GHz 2394 targets base station transmitter testing, mobile handset production test, and handset repair verification. Lightweight and portable with a color LCD display, the 2394 includes a fast processor and memory capable of storing up to 1,000 screen traces and 2,000 operational states. The 2394’s 50-ohms input can accept signals between +30 dBm and -110 dBm while providing protection up to 50 Vdc. The instrument includes a comprehensive marker system that allows as many as nine markers to be displayed at any one time, together with a marker table showing the frequency and level of each marker selected. Its user interface is designed to simplify measurements and allows semi-automated measurements of adjacent channel power, channel power, occupied bandwidth, emission bandwidth, X dB Down, and harmonic distortion. Key specs include: frequency range of 9 kHz to 13 GHz; frequency span of 100 Hz/div. to full span plus zero span; sweep speed of 20 ms to 1,000s; displayed average noise level of -115dBm from 3 to 13 GHz; and reference level accuracy of ± 1.0 dB (50 kHz to 13 GHz). The 2394 13-GHz spectrum analyzer is available now and is priced under $20,000. More details are available from IFR SYSTEMS INC., Wichita, KS. (800) 835-2352.
