Utilities Manage IR Connections Via Windows 98

June 1, 2000

The xConnect 1.0 suite of utilities allows users of any infrared-enabled notebook or desktop PC running Windows 98 to create and manage wireless data connections with other IR-equipped PCs and appliances. Offered as the first software product of its kind, the program automatically detects, connects, and launches the appropriate applications for IR connectivity. It also displays which applications are associated with each IR-enabled device and automatically launches them upon connection. A lite version of the company's FileConnect general-purpose file-transfer application is included. The xConnect software is free and can be downloaded from the company's web site. Upgrades and components may also be obtained from the site, as they become available.
