Measuring voltage and frequency on adjustable-speed motor drive systems, the 87V digital multimeter (DMM) claims to overcome the electrical noise that baffles standard meters. Features include a unique function that provides accurate readings on noisy equipment, a built-in thermometer, and large display digits with a bright white backlight. A magnetic hanger allows users to temporarily snap the tool onto steel panels, freeing their hands for other tasks. With concern for user safety advantage, the DMM meets requirements for use in 600V CAT IV and 1000V CAT III environments and can withstand voltage spikes up to 8 kV. Price is $349, and the Industrial Electrician Combo Kit, which includes a variety of test accessories, is available for $399. FLUKE CORP., Everett, WA. (888) 308-5277.
