Designed to produce high optical power and faster data capability with less drive current, the HFE438X Series of connectorized, high-speed vertical cavity surface-emitting laser components is intended for high-speed data communications and comes in a lensed and pre-aligned SC connector sleeve. The 850-nm devices are said to meet the needs of both design and manufacturing engineers to more quickly develop high-performance fiber optic systems in a cost-effective manner. The devices are available with two power-level options and two different polarity options. All the products are designed to operate in a single longitudinal mode, but with multiple transverse modes.
