Through use of the company's Mirror-Lite technology, which significantly increases the amount of light reflected from the rear surface of LCDs, the MLT line of character and mid-sized graphic LCD modules can reduce or even eliminate the need for power-hungry backlighting in battery-powered systems. The technology is said to make the displays appear much brighter in all ambient lighting conditions. Units can be built in reflective, transflective and transmissive modes and in both standard and extended-temperature versions. Background colors can be neutral STN, yellow-green STN, and black-and-white FSTN technology.
