Time/Temperature Logging IC Posts Its Data To Web Sites

Aug. 1, 1999

In a 16-mm, stainless-steel iButton form factor, the Thermochron iButton is a single-chip time and temperature logging device that’s submersible, dirt- and impact-resistant, and Internet-ready out of the box. In applications such as in-container monitoring of temperature-sensitive goods, it can function either as a standalone instrument as it roams with its object or it can be networked to interact with audio/visual indicators, displays, PCs and Web pages so data can be viewed anywhere. Each iButton can be made Web-addressable and can update its own Web page. The unit integrates a thermometer, real-time clock, and memory. It logs up to 2048 temperature readings in intervals from once per minute to every 255 minutes.
