The Synergy fiber optic IC chipset has been expanded with the addition of 3.3V versions of four devices: post-amplifiers and laser drivers at both 1.25 and 2.5 Gbps. The new devices in the SY889XX family are packaged in tiny 10-lead TSSOP packages and provide the same sensitivity and low noise of the original 5V parts. The products are also capable of 5V operation to allow their usage in legacy systems where 5V supplies may still be employed. The four parts are as follows: SY88922V 2.5-Gbp laser diode driver, SY88923V 2.5-Gbps limiting post amplifier with TTL LOS output, SY88903V 1.25-Gbps limiting post amplifier with TTL LOS output, and SY88913V 1.25-Gbps limiting post amplifier with PECL LOS output. Pricing starts at $4.50 each/1,000.
