The AMT8300T46F/L and AMT8400T46F/L integrated fiber optic datacomm receivers operate from a single 3V supply and provide high-speed data handling for 800 nm and 1300 nm fiber applications. The devices detect fiber optic signals and convert them into electrical signals and enable small form factor transceivers for high-speed 2X Fibre Channel and emerging 2.5 Gbps Infiniband fiber optic networks.
Using the firm's automatic gain control technology, the AMT8300 offers minimum sensitivity of -20 dBm and optical overload of better than 0 dBm for 850-nm applications and the AMT8400 features minimum sensitivity of -23 dBm and optical overload of better than 0 dBm for 1300-nm systems. With a bandwidth of 1800 MHz, the devices offer a wide dynamic range, translating into greater flexibility in system design and applications. In quantities of 1000, the AMT8300 is priced at $40 each and the AMT8400 costs $50 each.
