The Vanguard is called the industry's first high-power, commercial laser to utilize saturable Bragg reflector (SBR) technology--the technology is under license from Lucent Technologies. The solid-state UV laser delivers over 4W of quasi-CW output at 355 nm.
The device is a frequency-tripled Nd:YVO4 laser with a pulse repetition rate of 80 MHz and a pulse duration of 10 ps. It is based on the company's FCbar diode-pumping design that, like SBR technology, is fully scaleable,
Other features of the UV laser include TEM00 output, excellent beam pointing characteristics, and rugged industrial packaging.
