A new generation of EL lamps for backlit displays employ a proprietary phosphor formulation that yields higher brightness at a lower power draw. According to the company, this unique formula more than doubles the operational life of the lamp. The new formula is rated to exceed 15 Lumens/watt. The company is currently using these specialized phosphors to produce high-volume production lamps for a broad range of production applications, such as PDAs and cell phones. The lamps are custom made to meet each customer's unique physical design, electrical and performance characteristics. They are available in both standard and custom colors with a wide range of termination options. For more information, contact Mark Spencer at BKL INC., King of Prussia, PA. (610) 277-2910.
