Near-IR Camera Displays Megapixel Resolution

Nov. 1, 2001

The new KP-F120 camera is a high-resolution, progressive-scan, 2/3" CCD camera with the ability to extend sensitivity to the near-infrared region of the light spectrum. Resolution of the camera is 1.45 million effective pixels (1,392 x 1,040). The CCD arrayÕs square lattice pixel design reduces calculation times when precise measurements are required. The camera measures 58 mm x 58 mm x 48 mm and weighs 200g. It outputs 30 frames/s and its electronic shutter speed has eight settings, from 1/30 to 1/50,000 of a second. Partial scan, high-speed readouts are possible at up to 200 frames/s. In addition, the camera has a 10-bit, high-performance, dual-channel LVDS output. The cameraÕs small size, heat-sensing capability, and high resolution make it ideal for a wide range of applications, including machine vision, agricultural inspection, medical diagnostics and research, and microscopy. The near-IR camera costs $5,760. HITACHI DENSHI LTD., Woodbury, NY. (516) 682-4411
