14-Bit Driver Brightens Large Outdoor LED Video Displays

Intended to drive large, outdoor LED video displays, the MIC5400 driver provides 14-bit control of up to 16 output channels. Digitally programmable, the device's 16 outputs are arranged in two banks of eight, each with itÕs own four-bit brightness control and 10-bit output-intensity control.A suite of protection features include over-temperature shutdown, power-on reset, open-fault protection, soft-start, and watchdog timer. Designed to be daisy-chained together, the new 14-bit driver employs an 8.3 ns delay between the switching of each output and has a semi-random time delay.
