A new 3.5" high reflective color display boasts of superior white performance and low power consumption in a thin, lightweight form factor. The highly portable HR-TFT LCD is said to be particularly well suited to the convergence of telecommunications and the PDA. Based on the companyÕs fourth generation HR-TFT technology, the new display has an 8:1 contrast ratio, 6-bit digital color, less than 56 mW power consumption, and is one-third thinner and half the weight of conventional transmissive displays. The reduced power requirement is made possible by a micro reflective structure that eliminates the need for a backlight. The reflective display incorporates an integrated frontlight and touch panel and is readable even in bright sunlight, the company says. The 3.5" HR-TFT LCD (LQ035Q2-DD54), as well as a 3.9" version (LQ039Q2DS53), are available now.
