Designed to be a row driver in organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays targeted for use in portable digital assistants (PDAs), the MXED203 IC can support both single and dual scan passive matrix PDA displays. The row-multiplexed display driver can directly support 144-row mode (QCIF) and up to 160-row OLED panel displays. The row driver can also be used together with the companyÕs column driver ICs to provide coordinated precharge and synchronization for optimum dynamic response. The MXE203Õs low ÒonÓ switch resistance is said to ensure uniform luminance at rapid row scan rates. Samples of the OLED row driver in die form will be available latter this month, with pricing for the devices starting at $4 each in quantities of 1,000 to 9,999.
