The new DV3002 is a rugged, 2-line by 16-characters, sunlight readable, chip-on-glass liquid crystal display. Measuring just 69.5 mm wide x 25.05 mm high x 2.85 mm thick, the display is well-suited for battery-powered applications where harsh environments are likely to be encountered, such as on process control equipment, mobile data collection devices, and handheld instrumentation. Operating temperature of the display is -20¡C to 70¡C at relative humidity as high as 90%. MTBF is in excess of 100,000 hr. A built-in LCD controller incorporates a character generator offering 225 different 5 x 7 alphanumeric patterns and symbols to aid with programming. Current draw of the display is just 50 µA for typical ÒnormalÓ mode at 5V. A high-speed 8-bit interface can be connected directly to many microcontrollers.
