Touted as the latest in electronic display technology, the new Mitra range is designed to enhance the performance of display screens operating in harsh sunlight conditions, such as are encountered on boat decks—Mitra systems are said to be entirely visible under the various lighting and weather conditions found in marine application. The new LCDs use the same anti-reflective coating designed for the cockpits of F16 fighter planes. This reduces reflections off water surface. Using the coating with proper backlighting increases readability in sunny conditions. The Mitra displays also use an extremely light diffuser in front of the lamps, letting plenty of light through the lamps to improve efficiency.
