Available in both module and die forms, the KGM8010 and KGA8010 45-GHz broadband amplifiers are designed specifically for OC-768 fiber optic networks in metro, intermediate and long-haul infrastructures. The KGM8010 module is a general-purpose broadband amplifier with an integrated bias-tee network that spans a frequency range of 100 kHz to 45 GHz. It has an adjustable-output DC bias level and 2.4 mm output connectors. Applications include use as a baseband amplifier, optical modulator, or as an element in high-speed test instruments. Power consumption is 0.76W and gain is 18 dB. The KGA8010 die is a broadband distributed amplifier using gallium arsenide (GaAs) technology and coplanar waveguides. Power output is rated at 12 dBm and gain is 11.5 dB. Engineering samples are available at $7,500 for the KGM8010 and $900 for the KGA8010. OKI OPTICAL COMPONENTS INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 737-6347.
