Mean times between failure (MTBF) of more than 45,000 hr. are said to result in lower maintenance costs for a new, large, 30'' LCD public information display compared to CRT technology. The lightweight display aims for better on-screen performance than gas plasma units. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio, full-screen brightness (450 cd/m2), a high reliability backlight, and color and brightness uniformity. It also has a high resolution (WXGA) and wide viewing angles (horizontal and vertical viewing angles are greater than 160º). Other features of the TFT LCD include a 29.53'' diagonal active viewing area, pixel format of 280 x 768 x 3 color, pixel pitch of 0.4965 mm, and output color of 256 RGB. With dimensions of 27-5/8'' x 17-1/2'' x 4-5/8'', the display saves space when used instead of standard 29'' and 30'' CRT-based products. The 30'' LCD features analog RGB (15-pin D-Sub connector ) video compatibility, with multiple inputs available. And it requires power input of 90 to 260 Vac, 50/60 Hz, at 2A.
