The DV-1 digital color viewer uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly transmit images and text from PCs and PDAs to the eyewear system. Users can view data in total privacy and hands free on the integrated 12-bit qVGA color display. Operating on batteries and viewable in all lighting conditions, the viewer is available in the form of a developer’s kit that includes a protocol for transmitting images over the Bluetooth serial link. The viewer is monocular and clips on to either side of a pair of eyeglasses. While maintaining natural vision, users get the impression they are viewing a free-floating monitor.
