Relying on the company’s Centurion zener process technology, the CM1406 and CM1407 filter arrays provide both EMI and ESD protection in handsets that employ traditional packaging technology. The CM1406 is a four-channel filter in an 8-lead TDFN package that targets LCD and camera interfaces in clamshell wireless handsets. It employs a pi-style, 15 pF-200-15 pF configuration with flow-through routing for each channel. Filtering across all channels is achieved through a large ground pad on the bottom of the package that minimizes parasitic inductance. The device is able to attenuate signals at 35 dB over a frequency range of 800 MHz to 2.7 GHz. Other features include a cut-off frequency of 105 MHz. Using a 7.5pF-200Ω-7.5pF configuration and pin compatible with the CM1406, the CM1407 supports higher-resolution displays and imagers. It features a cut-off frequency of 210 MHz. Price for either device is $0.43 each/1,000. CALIFORNIA MICRO DEVICES CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 325-4966.
