The TPS723xx low-dropout regulators (LDOs) exhibit a PSRR of 65 dB at 1 kHz—claimed as the industry’s highest—and achieve an output noise of 60 µVRMS. The regulators target 200 mA, noise-sensitive applications with negative voltages, such as CCD cameras, PDA displays, optical drives, optical networking, and video amplifiers. The devices operate with input voltages from -10V to -2.7V and deliver output voltages from -10V to -1.2V. Via a precision voltage reference, they achieve a 1% initial accuracy and 2% over load, line, and temperature variations. Other features include a low dropout voltage of 280 mV at 2.5V/200 mA, quiescent current of 2 µA in shutdown mode, an operating temperature from –40°C to 125°C, thermal shutdown, and over-current protection. Available in 5-pin SOT-23 packages, price is $1.05 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
