The ABT2010 is described as the first video processor with progressive re-processing (PReP), the company's unique technology that eliminates artifacts on high-definition (HD) displays. The device also features other proprietary technologies including Video Reference Series Precision Video Scaling II and Precision Deinterlacing, as well as standard noise reduction and image enhancement. Essentially, PReP technology is a processing method that reverts the progressive video signal output from source equipment to its original interlaced format and then converts the interlaced signal to progressive format. This promises to eliminate jaggies, combing, and other degrading effects. It allows for the processing of 480p, 576p, 1080p/50, 1080p/60, and other progressive formats via said method. Additionally, the processor supports HDMI 1.3 with 12-bit resolutions as well as pass-through mode for all formats. Samples of the ABT2010 will be available in the second quarter.
