To round out its CARRYTEC range of portable plastic enclosures, OKW developed larger “Size M” models to provide more internal space for electronics. Also, the company offers a new station that’s designed for charging and data transfer when the equipment isn’t being carried. Size M models, which measure 10.62 by 9.72 by 3.58 in. externally, come in two standard materials: ABS (UL 94 HB) for indoor use, and fiberglass-reinforced polyamide for the outdoors. Membrane keypads, displays, and touchscreens can be fitted to the recessed top section, while connectors and switches can be mounted to inset flat sections on the underside. The station can be mounted on a wall or machine housing, or be used on a desk. Data transfer and charging is facilitated by five-pole contacts fitted to the case and station base parts. Applications include medical equipment, data recording and monitoring, test-and-measurement instruments, and communications and safety systems.
