ON Semiconductor has opened two new solutions engineering centers (SEC) - one in Portland, Oregon, and the second in Taipei, Taiwan. Establishment of these facilities expands the company’s local service capabilities by providing on-site technical expertise and new product development. Both SECs will develop advanced power management solutions for the computer power and the power conversion markets.

“Opening these SECs further demonstrates ON Semiconductor’s ongoing commitment to strengthen relationships with our customers and to support their key local strategies,” said Keith Jackson, ON Semiconductor president and CEO.

The Portland SEC is headed by Bernie Boland, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in field applications, marketing, business development and management. The SEC in Taiwan is headed by Director Alvin Chang, an industry veteran with more than 14 years of experience in semiconductor design, field applications, marketing, business development and management.
