Recom’s R-78 series of switching regulators has been extended with three series covering wide input voltage ranges, higher output currents and higher input voltages while maintaining the SIP3 footprint.

The R-78Bxx-1.0offers output voltages from 1.5 V to 15 V at a maximum output current of 1 A for input voltages up to 34 V, and is rated for 15 W. This device is available with 90-degree pins so that it can be laid flat on the pc board.

The R-78Bxx-1.5 offers output voltages from 1.5 V to 6.5V at a maximum output current of 1.5 A with an input voltage range of up to 18 V. It is also available with 90-degree pins.

The R-78HBxx-0.5 offers output voltages from 3.3 V to 24 V at a maximum output current of 0.5 A with an input voltage range of up to 9 V to 72 V. This converter has up to 96% conversion efficiency, typically 20 mVPK-PK ripple and noise, quiescent current of 1 mA, and a peak output current of up to 1.2 A.
