Micrel’s family of 2 MHz non-synchronous PWM buck regulators features a low-resistance integrated p-channel MOSFET. The family includes the MIC4723 (3 A); the MIC4720 (2 A); and the MIC4721 (1.5 A). The family achieves greater than 94% efficiency.

Switching at 2 MHz, the family also features fast operation and a proprietary internal compensation, which speeds transient response and enables the use of low-cost LC components. The output voltage can be adjusted down to 1 V, and can operate with a maximum duty cycle of 100%.

The MIC4723 and MIC4720 are offered a thermally enhanced MSOP-10 package (as well as a 3-mm x 3-mm MLF-12). The MIC4721 is offered in a MSOP-10 package. The MIC4720, MIC4721 and MIC4723 devices are available in volume and priced at $1.40, $1.22 and $1.53 for quantities of 1000.
