With its wide, 4.5-V to 52-V voltage range, Texas Instruments’ TPS40211 nonsynchronous boost controller enables designers to efficiently manage LED lighting, industrial control and battery-powered systems. The chip is capable of driving 1-W to 5-W high-brightness LEDs.

Features: ability to power multiple 1-W to 5-W high-brightness LEDs in series, programmable closed soft start, overcurrent protection with automatic retry, programmable oscillator frequency, 700-mV or 263-mV reference, fixed-frequency current-mode control, and support for boost, flyback, SEPIC and various LED driver topologies
Operating temperature range: -40ºC to 125ºC
