The TES-1 series of isolated dc-dc converter modules from Tracopower provides 1 W of output power, suiting them for ground loop elimination, voltage isolation in digital interface applications, and other functions (see the figure). The 18 models in the series provide input voltages of 5, 12, or 24 V dc and single or dual outputs ranging from 5 to 15 V dc. They also feature a ±10% input range, I/O isolation of 1500 V dc, and an operating temperature of –40°C to 85°C.

With a new surface-mount device (SMD) package design, the converters are qualified for the higher temperatures of lead-free reflow solder processes and comply fully with the IPC J-STD-020D soldering standard. All of the models also comply with the European Union’s Restrictions on Hazardous Substances. They’re available in tape and reel packaging and are backed by a three-year product warranty.

The TES-1 converters are in full production with deliveries from stock to six weeks. Pricing starts at $3.90 in quantities of 1000 pieces.
