Designed to provide low-battery voltage warning for single-cell Li-ion battery applications, the LTC1998 has the ability to adjust the hysteresis from 10 mV to 750 mV. This is said to allow users to add hysteresis in order to prevent output noise caused by a slight increase in battery voltage after load removal. Via a proprietary architecture, the device maintains a 1% accuracy over temperature (-40ûC to 85ûC or 0ûC to 70ûC) even when using 1% threshold-setting resistors. Other features include a quiescent current of 2.5 A typical, rail-to-rail output swings, programmable trip points from 2.5V to 3.25V, and a guaranteed output state to VBATT ³ 1V. Available in a six-pin SOT-23 package, price is $0.95 each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (408) 432-1900.
