For use in GSM cellular telephone applications, AWT0908 is a 4.8V GaAs power amplifier that operates in the 880 to 915 MHz range. With three stages, the device can operate with 5 dBm input power; and output power and efficiency are determined with a single external capacitor matching the amplifier output. Typical efficiency at 35 dBm power out is 50%. The pulse control pin determines the output power level during the pulse, a feature that simplifies the design of the power and pulse control loop. The amplifier produces noise of -90 dBm in the 30 kHz band.
