Described as being a space-saving, high-performance 150-mA low dropout voltage regulator, the Si9183DT spans a 2V to 6V input voltage range and is offered in seven low-noise versions with fixed output voltages of from 1.5V to 5V. The Si9183DT can be used with either ceramic or tantalum capacitors and is available in an adjustable output version (Si9183DT-AD).
The CMOS LDO regulator is said to offer line/load transient response and ripple rejection superior to that of bipolar or BiCMOS devices—transient response is less than 2 µs (typ.). And the IC is designed to maintain regulation while delivering 300 mA of peak current. In addition, stability is guaranteed from maximum load current down to 0 mA. Si9183DT comes in a 5-pin SOT-23 package costing $0.35 each/100,000.
