Developed to make power supply design easier and faster, the new TPS5461x SWIFT series is a family of high-performance synchronous buck dc/dc converters. With SWIFT (Switcher With Integrated FET Technology) devices, power supplies can be designed using as few as six external components. The converters employ 12A MOSFET switches, can supply greater than 6A continuously over their entire operating temperature range, and can achieve efficiencies of up to 95%. And both fixed or adjustable output voltage versions are available down to 0.9V with 1.0% initial accuracy. Input voltage range is 3.0V to 6.0V. The low-voltage dc/dc converters cost $4.99 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
