Adding to the Volant series dc/dc converter line are two devices that target point of load (POL) applications. The NEA005 delivers a 5A output with an input voltage of 12V, while the NCA005 produces a 10A output from a 5V input. Output voltages of both are programmable via an external resistor. With industry standard pin configurations, the converters are available in both SIP and SMT packages. The 10A SMT package measures 1.30" x 0.53" x 0.33", while the SIP measures 2" x 0.327" x 0.50". The 5A SMT package measures 0.8" x 0.45" x 0.24", while the SIP measures 0.9" x 0.4" x 0.22". Positive-enable-logic and negative-enable-logic models are also available. Prices range from $8.55 to $12.97 each/1,000. For more details, contact Walter Wong at CELESTICA INC., Ontario, Canada. (416) 448-3561.
