Thanks to a high channel count, the AD5380 40-channel, 14-bit resolution voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) facilitates control of large numbers of wavelengths in small spaces. It can operate from a 5-V supply. An on-chip low-drift reference eliminates the need for an external reference IC. Also included are user-programmable offset and gain for digital range adjustment and system calibration. The highly accurate DAC's boost mode lets the parts attain faster settling times. A load DAC function achieves simultaneous update of all DAC outputs. The AD5380 costs $49.50 in 1000-piece lots.
