Debuting as the first monolithic delta-sigma rms/dc converter, the LTC1966 boasts of a 0.25% untrimmed total error from 50 Hz to 1 kHz and an accuracy of 0.05% across its complete input range. The device also claims other industry firsts, such as operation from a single supply less than 6V, that is, from 2.7V to 5V or up to ±5V with a current draw of 170 µA.Linearity is stated as 0.02% from 50 mV to 350 mV, allowing for easier system calibration. Other features include single-ended or differential inputs, rail-to-rail inputs and outputs, and a current of 0.1 µA in shutdown mode.Available in an eight-pin MSOP in commercial or industrial temperature ranges, price is $2.95 each/1,000.
