A line of high-power dc-dc converters, available in standard eighth-brick packages, delivers currents of 25 A at efficiencies as high as 91%. The Eagle single-output converters have a power density of 93 W/in.3 They can handle 36- to 75-V dc input voltages in accordance with ETSI and Bellcore specifications. Measuring 0.90 by 2.30 in., the modules are a direct plug-in to existing quarter-brick applications. The Eagle's 0.39-in. profile suits tight card-pitch requirements while minimizing airflow shadowing and enhancing cooling for downstream devices. The converter is available in 1.2-, 1.5-, 1.8-, 2.5-, 3.3-, and 5.0-V output voltage modules. Other features include self-contained bias circuitry that eliminates race conditions, no minimum load requirements, constant frequency operation for predictable electromagnetic-interference (EMI) characteristics, and tightly regulated outputs. Pricing is $42 each in 1000-unit lots.
