Specifically designed for dc/dc applications where step-up voltage conversion from a very low input voltage is required, the ZXSC100 boost converter can operate from a single NiCd or Ni MH cell. As the battery voltage falls below 1V, the converter maintains an efficiency rate of greater than 82%, insuring maximum operating life and less recharge cycles. The circuit will start under full load conditions and maintain regulation down to an input voltage of 0.926V. A programmable output voltage can be set at any point between the input voltage and the maximum Vce rating of the boost transistor. The circuit can also be configured to support an output power range up to 2W. Price is $1 each/1,000.
