A power-saving shutdown mode makes the TC1219/1220 CMOS "charge-pump" voltage converters well suited for battery-powered applications. The ultra-small SOT23-6 devices invert and/or double an input voltage that can range from 1.5V to 5.5V with a typical conversion efficiency of more than 95%. Switching frequency is 12 kHz for the 1219 and 35 kHz for the 1220. Both ICs can supply up to 25 mA of output.Only two capacitors are required for standard voltage inverter applications. A positive doubler can be built with the addition of a few discretes. All other circuitry is integrated on the chip.
