Designed for low-noise, switched-mode power supply converter and inverter applications, the ASM8Pxxxx family of PWM controllers integrate proprietary spread-spectrum modulation technology that reduces EMI emissions. Available in eight-pin SOIC packages or DIPs, the four members of the family debut as replacements for the company's 184X/384X PWM controllers. Each device operates at frequencies ranging from 40 kHz to 400 kHz and supports both off-line inverter and dc/dc converter designs. The ASM8P18S42, ASM8P18S43, ASM8P18S44, and ASM8P18S45 specify under-voltage lockout values of 15.4V, 7.8V, 15.4V, and 7.8V, respectively. Initial pricing is set at $2 each/1,000.
