The LX1669 surface-mount voltage regulator sports a TTL-programmable synchronous buck regulator switching output and is designed to power microprocessors such as Intel's Pentium II Celeron and Xeon, AMD's K6, CyrixM II, MediaGX and 6x86. Only 18 external components are needed to design a complete single output power supply. The LX1669 has a 5-bit, TTL-compatible DAC to program output voltage between 1.3V and 3.5V. Adaptive voltage positioning boosts the set point voltage by 40 mV at no load without any external components to help designers meet stringent transient voltage specifications. Switching frequency is a fixed 200 kHz and duty cycle can be held at 0% or 100% during transient load changes to ensure no glitches in processor performance.
