Trouble-free transitions between two power inputs and simplified design for network interface cards, modem cards and other PCI bus interface cards is promised by the CS5231 linear regulator. The device complies with Intel’s Instantly Available PC (IAPC) standard. It also offers a higher current capability and protection circuitry that’s said to be unavailable in competitive products. The IC integrates a 3.3V, 500-mA linear regulator with auxiliary control circuitry that supplies a consistent, uninterrupted 3.3V output during normal operation or when the system enters a deep sleep mode. The regulator offers ±2% accuracy over the full temperature range.
