Designed for automotive applications, such as electric power-assisted steering and integrated starter alternators, these new planar stripe HEXFET power MOSFETs are said to provide five times the avalanche capability of industry-standard trench technology units. The devices, ranging from the IRF1404 to IRFP2907, offer voltage ratings of 40V, 55V and 75V and current ratings at 25°C from 133A to 212A. On-resistance ratings range from 2.9 up to 16 milliohms.
