LDO Regulators Reject Ripple

March 1, 2002
With a low dropout voltage of 120 mV at 50 mA at an output of 3V, the S-L2980 LDO voltage regulator has a ripple rejection ratio of 70 dB at 1 kHz. The regulator has an output range from 1.5V to 6V in 0.1V increments and a quiescent current of 0.1

With a low dropout voltage of 120 mV at 50 mA at an output of 3V, the S-L2980 LDO voltage regulator has a ripple rejection ratio of 70 dB at 1 kHz. The regulator has an output range from 1.5V to 6V in 0.1V increments and a quiescent current of 0.1 µA, 1 µA maximum at power off. Though designed for use with ceramic capacitors to reduce space, tantalum and electrolytic capacitors may also be used. Other features include an output voltage accuracy of ±2%, peak current of 150 mA at VIN ³ VOUT(S) + 1V, and a built-in power-off circuit. Available in SON(A) and SOT-23-5 packages, prices are $0.34 and $0.30, respectively, each/10,000. SEIKO INSTRUMENTS USA INC., Torrance, CA. (310) 517-7792.
