For disconnecting a li+ battery from its load in portable designs, the MAX14525 battery switch provides four enable inputs and specifies an on resistance of 35 milliOhm typical and a 0.8 ?A quiescent current. It integrates all necessary components and eliminates up to eight additional components. Residing in an eight-pin, 2 mm x 2 mm TDFN, the switch is enabled from four possible inputs: a travel adapter input capable of high voltages up to 28V, an on-key input with a 3V ±2% trigger threshold, a switch-enable input that is internally ANDed with the switched battery connection, and a factory-mode enable input. Pricing for the MAX14525 starts at $1.10 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
