Specifying a higher current rating than its MD5001T predecessor, the MD5011T step-down converter outputs up to 1.4A with an input range from 4.5V to 14V. Output voltage ranges from 0.8V to 12V. The device integrates a control circuit and a MOSFET switch in an SOP-8 package. Additionally, the converter provides efficiency in excess of 90% and includes remote on/off and thermal and over-current protection. Price is $0.70 in OEM quantities.
