Four high-power and one medium-power GaAs multichip power amplifier modules are for applications such as local multipoint distribution services (LMDS) systems, point-to-point radios, and very small aperture terminals (VSATs) for Ka-band satellite communications. The modules are for use in the 27 to 31 GHz and 37 to 40 GHz frequency bands, which are portions of the radio spectrum now coming into use for telecommunications. These modules reduce parts counts while providing higher levels of functional integration and lowering overall costs.
