Promoting higher system reliability while reducing resonant-converter design time, the FSFR2100 power switch exhibits an efficiency up to 97%. The device integrates a pulse-frequency-modulation controller with a high-voltage gate driver circuit and two fast recovery MOSFETs along with soft-start, burst operation, and protection features into a 9-SIP package. It features a zero-voltage switching technique that reduces switching losses in both MOSFETs and rectifiers. Also, the switch can handle up to 200W without a heat sink and up to 450W with a heat sink. It employs lead-free terminals and meets requirements for moisture sensitivity in accordance with the IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020 for lead-free reflow. Price is $4.16 each/1,000.
